On Sunday, April 24 from 2 to 4pm, thousands of devoted Armenian-Americans and their friends and supporters gathered in Times Square, New York City to commemorate the first genocide of the 20th century - the Armenian Genocide. Speakers included civic, religious, humanitarian, educational, and cultural leaders, as well as, performing artists. The 101st commemoration was organized by the Mid-Atlantic chapters of the Knights and Daughters of Vartan and co-sponsored by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, the Armenian Assembly of America, the Armenian National Committee of America, the Armenian Council of America and the Armenian Democratic League.
